3990 Heimdal is an Outer Main Belt asteroid that was discovered by P. Jensen on September 25, 1987.

The White Tower, headquarters of the Space Patrol, takes up approximately ten percent of the surface of asteroid Heimdal and has expansion plans on file for most of the remaining ninety percent. (The remaining surface area is set aside for liaison offices to allied factions such as the Watch.)

The White Tower is served by two aerospace ports. North Field (ICAO:XBWN, IATA:GJN) primarily handles public traffic, while South Field (ICAO:XBWS, IATA:GJS) is intended for prisoner transfer and other official Patrol business.[1]

Heimdal is one of the safest places in the Solar System.

Notes

  1. Somebody in the IATA confused the Space Patrol and Great Justice when assigning Heimdall's airport codes. Both organizations have expressed disapproval with this, but can do nothing about the situation.
