20000 Varuna is a Sol system dwarf planet.
It was discovered by Robert McMillan on 28 November 2000 (although photographs of Varuna are known to have been taken as early as 1954), and is named after the Hindu deva of water, the night sky (space) and ocean, and Keeper of the Souls of the Dead.
20000 Varuna has an elongated ellipsoid shape.
