3895 Earhart (or "1987 DE") is a Main Belt asteroid discovered on 23 February 1987 by Carolyn S. Shoemaker at Palomar Observatory. It was named for Amelia Earhart (1897–1937), a distinguished pioneer in the field of aviation.
The asteroid was claimed by Yayoi Fujisawa on 8 April 2015, who began work on a private residence and the Earhart Flight Academy. The flight school was opened on 5 August 2029, offering training in astronautics, astrogation, and piloting to all Fen.[1]
Notes
- ↑ They don't compete directly with the Starfleet Academy Main Belt Campus on 2309 Mr. Spock; that facility is open only to Trekkies, and Trekkies don't usually patronize Earhart because of StellviaCorp's alliance with the Warsies.
