Assembled in space after the launch of the Grover's Corners, the Salvage I was built as an explicit homage to the 1970s TV show of the same name.[1] Alone of the Corners fleet, it was planned and designed specifically as a space vehicle. The parts needed to build it were accumulated over a period of several months and stored in one of the barns until the hubbub surrounding the launch of the Corners died down.
Known Vehicle Quirks
- Requires the presence of at least one gallon of genuine hydrazine fuel somewhere on board or its drive will not function. Given how explosive hydrazine is, this is can be nerve-wracking for the crew.
- Navigational computer (non-AI) speaks with the voice of Andy Griffith.
Notes
- ↑ The crew is well aware that the name of the craft in that show is actually Vulture. They like their choice better.
