Marci came from a New Hampshire family of very spiritual, very devout, and very small-minded Baptists. Cosplay and fantasy gaming were her bit of rebellion and ways to blow off stress from school.
While in college (Marci is a non-graduate double engineering major, ME/EE), she attended THAT Con in a catgirl costume made partially with handwavium, ate some of the original batch of Guacamole, and was transformed into the first catgirl. She avoided the government sweep-and-internment of the first biomods by having a room in a different hotel. Marci somehow made it back home, only to be disowned (and called a demon, and shot at) by her father; she was rescued from him by Wave Convoy.
She assumed the name "Shuko", and they met up with her friend Marcel LeChevalier. The three of them headed into space; the rest, as they say, is history...
