A woman who spends almost all of her waking life wearing a customised holo cloak. When she has been seen without this she has blue skin and shoulder-length bright red hair just like Raven Darkholme a.k.a Mystique [1]. Her default human form is a slightly plain-looking woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing neat business clothes, that suit a Kandor Police Detective Inspector.
Raven (no surname on record) wont talk about her background or origin. Those who know her have noticed signs of an English accent when she is really tired - otherwise she uses a generic American accent, though sometimes this shifts to a regional one. Some people are suspicious about her listed birth date of 1st January 1970, as that's the UNIX start date, but various comments that she's made suggest the age is about right.
Raven is a Super, and it's strongly suspected that she was a dedicated fan of her namesake before she was biomodded. Very occasionally she complains that she "didn't get real shape shifting", and has implied that her biomod was intentional, possibly for medical reasons. However, she seems to be a genius at impersonating people, and puts that to good use in police work.
When told that Mystique is a 'criminal', she can get a little annoyed, and insist she "just did what she needed to survive". If pressed she'll admit she "made a few mistakes". She insists that she will, herself, prove that shape shifting is just as useful on the side of law and order, as it is to a criminal.
Raven was one of the early people to "come up", with other Supers who settled to create Kandor City. She was already biomoded and wearing an earlier version of her holo cloak at this time. Initially she worked as an administrator and translator, and vigilante informally dealing with criminal activity. When the Kandor Police Department formed she immediately became a detective, and rapidly rose to the rank of Inspector, where she seems pretty happy. It seems very likely she had police and possibly investigative experience before she came to Luna.
As a translator [2], she is skilled in English, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and Cantonese, Swahili and Croatian. As a hobby she plays around with Ancient Egyptian and Biblical Hebrew (due to problems with knowing how they're pronounced). She can 'do' accents in all the languages she knows.
She will use adequately, but doesn't like, guns [3].

- Natural Linguist Can impersonate any accent with minimal exposure, and can master a new language in weeks.
- Fast Study Can 'speed read' dossiers, 'cramming' the contents, then make use of them.
- Acrobatic Martial Artist Very flexible - combines Kung Fu with acrobatics; can effectively impersonate other martial arts.
- Skilled Investigator Can see the holes in stories and where it's worth further investigation.
- Forger Is an excellent artist, but only in other people's styles - she's excellent at spotting forged documents.

- Holo Genius Holographic systems love her, and she can spot mistakes in almost the best holo impersonation.
- Perfect Vocal Mimic Can match any human speech pattern, and can accurately match most non-human sounds.
- Perfect Gesture Mimic Can learn someone's body language, and perfectly imitate it. A brilliant actor.
- Odor Mimic What it says on the jar.
- Heroic Escape She has been almost certainly dead, several times, but has made amazing escapes - just luck?
- Homeostasis Hair and nail length doesn't change; she's effectively not aging, and heals quickly.
Quirks
- Needs Excitement While she is better than she used to be, she still tends to go looking for trouble.
- No Originality Not good at coming up with new ideas or being creative [4] - very good at copying others.
- Perfectionist While she tries to restrain this, it sometimes still shows; she can always find something to criticise.
- Belief In Logan Swears he's around, somewhere. [5]
- Doesn't Flirt Unless this is required as part of a role she is playing; she's basically not that interested.
