James Stevenson was one of the first Asteroid racers after Benjamin Rhodes and his associates invented the sport. Though never very successfull he enjoyed the sport and made something of a name for himself there, though he keeps the exact details of why he's known as Auger to himself.
He attended the emergency convention now known as SOS-con, voting for Operation Great Justice, and signing up almost immediately. He had hoped to become a fighter pilot but got roped, 'temporarily' into OGJ's expanding Marine corp as a transport pilot. His skill eventually got him transferred to pilot a boarding craft, which he did until the end of the war.
After the war he returned to his previous life, though he tends to get suckered into Grey's plans whenever she needs a really good pilot. He complains, but always seems to end up helping her anyway.

Average height, dark hair pulled back into a loose ponytail. Often wears outfits reminicent of WWII flying gear.
