A generic term for space ships' drives that use high temperature plasma from fusion reactions as their propellant. Fusion Torches are so called because their exhaust plume is incredibly hot, and anything caught in it will likely suffer extreme damage from the heat[1].

There are any number of different kinds of fusion torches, a few such are:

  • D-T Fusion: Deuterium-Tritium fusion.
  • H-B Fusion: Hydrogen-Boron fusion.
  • He3-D Fusion: Helium 3-Deuterium fusion.
  • IC Fusion: Inertial Confinement fusion.

Acceleration Drives

Fusion torch acceleration drives are a kind of constant boost drive, and are ideal for Brachistochrone type transfers.
